Iran the land of the Peacock Throne- or something else?.

Iran is still in the news. Find out all about what they are talking about!

Egypt's Oasis to Jordan's Petra plus Abu Simbel Sun Passes

A wonderful opportunity to explore Egypt with a group of like minded people, escorted by a native of Egypt who has been an 'Aussie' for 38 years.

Gamal Darwish is a recently retired secondary school teacher in Melbourne and now a sports medicine masseur. He is seen here (below) in Sai'ide clothes at a Cairo themed restaurant. This costume is from the central areas of Egypt around Luxor region.

It is an interesting comparative note in that more Egyptian monuments are open for viewing today than when the great Greek historian Herodotus visited the Nile valley in the 2nd century BC.  And of course we all know his famous travel guide book, don't we!?

Many attractions are off the beaten track. The Nile Valley and Delta, where most Egyptians live, makes up less than 10% of Egypt's total land mass. The rest is desert, which offers charms of its own.

 Flight Options

Who really knows (this far in advance) what flight deals will be available for this time in 2014. Previous tours have used Singapore Airlines as the designated group flight. We will set a designated airline and those that arrive on this can avail themselves of the included transfers. You can book other airlines - some may wish to use frequent flyer points. The start point for those people would then be the first night hotel. You can get an idea of what flights will be by using our web flight enquiry/booking engine. Take the link that says 'Advanced Search' and then enter your Australian city to Cairo and the return being Cairo to your home port. At present we favour Singapore Airlines due to the ease of their connection allowing for a short transit stop in Singapore. However, Emirates offers another favourable option. Clients can also arrange stopovers in Singapore or in Dubai with these airlines if desired.
